About Us

Crochet Class 501(c)(3) is an ethical teaching organization that uses crocheting, as an art-based approach, to enhance learning, reduce stress while strengthening and engaging our community.

In 2023, we've added The Mats Project as one of our Volunteer Programs. We upcycle plastic bags that are salvage into eco-friendly sustainable bed mats for the homeless on the street. Due to COVID-19 we use new salvaged plastic bags. We've streamlined our production process by having Teams that cut the bags into strips, then loop the strips into a long strand and crochet the strands into the mats that measure 30" wide and 72" long.  Also we include a Love Bag of everyday essentials. A special thanks to Ms. Christine Essex for spearheading this program! Come make a mat and make a difference! Go to The Mats Project Page for more information.

We've been impacting our local community since 2016 through The Art Of Crochet Project classes. The Art Of Crochet Project is made possible by Crochet Class 501(c)(3). We've hosted classes and events at various venues, including several senior facilities, a neurological facility, as well as, for groups and individuals. We've donated yarn, hooks, patterns, hats, blankets and meals to the Ronald McDonald House and a Clark County School District. Go to The Art Of Crochet Project Page for more information.
